    • In 1827, Gideon A. Weathersby was a successful drawer in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery. He drew land described as Lot # 61, District #10, Lee County, Georgia. It is my understanding that because of boundary changes, this land actually ended up being located in Randolph County, Georgia.

I suspect that the transcription of this record is incorrect - that it should refer to Lot 61 instead of Lot 91. Lot 61, District 10 is what Gideon received in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery. I can find no other record of Gideon owning land in what became Randolph County.

From The CGGS Books on CD Collection, Book 3, Land Records of Houston County, Georgia, 1831 - 1834), page 37, - Gideon A. • Notes
    • (Research): I found a notation on the Internet that Gideon Weathersbee had died in McLennan County, TX (near Moody, Texas) in 1890. I have been unable to verify this. I have checked the available cemetery records, including records for the Moody Cemetery, and have turned up nothing.

Did Gideon have a second wife? G.A. Weathersbee (male) married M.E. Lorance on 29 June 1879 in Kaufman County, TX. Kaufman County is the general area where this Weathersbee family was in the late 1870's and early 1880's. Gideon appears in the 1880 census, in Hunt County, living with son John's family. He is listed as "widowed" in this census. I can find no other G.A. Weathersbee who would have been of marriable age in 1879.
